Medicare Supplement Plans

Medicare Supplement (or Medigap) insurance policies cover some or all of the gaps left after Medicare pays it share. They are available in 11 standardized plans (Plan A – Plan N) that provide the same benefits regardless of insurance company. Rates vary by issue age, zip code, gender, tobacco use, or may offer a household discount. Rates change all the time, let us find the right fit for you.

Plan F offers the most security with coverage for every category of Medicare cost-sharing. We also have many customers who find the premium savings of a Plan N worth assuming out-of-pocket risk for the Part B deductible ($198 in 2020), outpatient co-pays ($20 office visit/$50 Emergency Room), and any Part B Excess Charges. With Plan G would be the same as N, but cover the Part B Excess Charges.  Plan F will be phased out in 2020 for anyone new to Medicare in 2020.

Open Enrollment is Guarantee Issue for six months from the time you are both enrolled in Medicare Part B and turn 65 (even if you were previously on Medicare due to disability). This means you will not have to answer any health questions, and it must cover all Pre-Existing Conditions. Leaving an employer sponsored group plan also triggers a six month Guarantee Issue window with no health history questions asked. Outside of these required periods, carriers have different underwriting requirements. If you have a pre-existing condition, we can help you pick the company with the best chance for acceptance of your application. You would also be eligible for a Guaranteed Issue period if you're enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan that has been discontinued.
